Trade turnover between Russia and Georgia showed an increase of 50% in 2022

Economic News Agency. The growth of trade turnover between Russian and Georgian partners amounted to $2.5 billion, which in percentage terms has a 50% dynamics.

This is reported by TASS with reference to the data of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). In addition, on the basis of the organization and with its assistance, a Russian-Georgian business council was created. Its competence will include the function of monitoring and coordinating the efforts of entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation to enter the Georgian market. This was stated by Vice-President of the Chamber Vladimir Padalko: "Also, a Russian-Georgian business council has been created at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will coordinate the efforts of Russian entrepreneurs to enter the Georgian market."

The head of the CCI noted that the organization would help businesses develop at their level in the absence of the necessary dialogue between the authorities. According to the official data of the National Statistical Service of the former Soviet republic, the trade turnover between the countries grew by 1.5 times last year.
