Russia increased agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia by 49.9 percent

PRIME. The export of Russian agricultural products to Saudi Arabia grew unprecedentedly in 2022, reaching 49.9%, approaching one billion dollars, Russian Ambassador to Riyadh Sergey Kozlov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"In 2022, exports of domestic agro-industrial products to Saudi Arabia increased unprecedentedly - by 49.9% and approached a significant milestone of $ 1 billion," he said.

The diplomat noted that this was facilitated, among other things, by the growing interest of Saudi partners in the supply of Russian agricultural products.

Kozlov recalled that in October 2022, Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev visited Saudi Arabia, timed to coincide with the largest regional agricultural exhibition Saudi Agriculture-2022.

"As a result of the visit, important agreements were reached on the further promotion of Russian agricultural products to the local market," the ambassador explained and stressed that Moscow considers cooperation with Riyadh in the agricultural sector one of the locomotives for the development of the entire range of Russian-Saudi trade and economic relations.
