Komi business received $235 million support from the Russian Export Center in 2022

/TASS/. Exporting companies of the Komi Republic received support from the Russian Export Center for $235 million in 2022 in the form of services and financial assistance. The local company Coffee Plus was the first in Russia to receive insurance support for the purchase of imported equipment in December last year, Alexei Solodov, vice president of the Russian Export Center, said on Tuesday.

"Komi is a region that has built trade and economic relations with many countries of the world. Despite the fact that deliveries to Western countries played a large role in the structure of exports, in 2022 local companies were able to adapt to changing conditions, thanks in part to the support of the Russian Export center. So, in 2022, 526 services were provided to Komi companies, 164 enterprises received support, including 18 companies who completed training at the export school. The volume of supported exports in the region amounted to $ 235 million, including financial support," Solodov said via video link during a meeting of the Council for Improving the Investment Climate and Export Development in the region in Syktyvkar.

It was the company from Komi that became the first in the country to receive insurance support for the purchase of imported products in December 2022 - this is a new tool that was developed by the Russian Export Center group. It was used by the Coffee Plus enterprise, one of the largest coffee roasters in Russia, Solodov noted.

In addition, Komi is one of the major suppliers of timber industry products to foreign markets, half of which is exported. “Together with the government of the Russian Federation, we are developing measures to support the company, which will help them rebuild traffic flows,” Solodov said.

As Deputy Prime Minister of the region Elmira Akhmeyeva added, the region's economy coped with the challenges in the covid years, "we coped last year, not a single enterprise was closed, people continue to work."
