Imports of used cars from Japan to Russia may grow to $2 billion this year

FINMARKET.RU - The volume of supplies of used cars from Japan to Russia by the end of 2023 may increase to $2 billion, said Petr Pavlenko, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Japan.

"Imports to Russia from Japan have grown sharply, primarily used cars. Last year there were more than 200 thousand cars. This year the figures are even more energetic, probably, there will be about $ 2 billion by the end of the year," Pavlenko said at a business session "New realities. Market reorientation: export, import and logistics" on Thursday in Volgograd.

He noted that Japan did not begin to impose sanctions on the supply of used cars to the Russian Federation, since "three Japanese prefectures live on the trade in spare parts and cars with Russia."
