The volume of trade between Russia and Armenia broke a record

The volume of trade between Russia and Armenia for the period from January to May 2023 increased by 86% compared to the same period last year. Export to Moscow from Yerevan increased by 3.3 times, said Denis Gonchar, director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Last year, the mutual trade turnover broke all records, reaching $5 billion. We are also seeing positive dynamics this year: in January-May, trade increased <…> amounting to $2.3 billion,” Honchar said.

According to him, this allows us to talk about the priority of the Russian market for Armenian manufacturers. Moscow expects that the volume of trade will continue to grow on the back of an increase in the capacity of the Verkhny Lars checkpoint.
